Brace yourself: this is a clever, consistently entertaining, and even inspired continuation of the mean-spirited slasher series. For those not in the know, Chucky is a mop-top kid's doll come to life with the soul of a serial killer and the voice of Brad Dourif (doing his best Jack Nicholson). Revived by his former paramour Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly, looking every inch a life-size Barbie in stiletto heels and skintight black leather), Chucky proceeds to turn his human sweetie into a pint-sized Talking Tina doll with attitude, and together they hit the road for a magic amulet and young new bodies to inhabit. They hitch a ride with sweet young runaways Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile and leave a trail of corpses bloodied, burned, and cut to ribbons. The kids are cute, but the real heat is generated by the latex lovers who use murder as foreplay and consummate their renewed romance in a night of passionate sex ("Shouldn't you wear a rubber?" "I'm all rubber!"). Hong Kong director Ronny Yu (The Bride with White Hair) directs with a light touch and against all odds transforms walking dolls Chucky and Tiffany into funny, energetic, full-blooded characters: l'amour fou has never been more crazy. John Ritter costars as Heigl's overprotective uncle (another obstacle on the road to dolly freedom) and Alexis Arquette is hilarious as a lanky goth nerd. The wild conclusion leaves room for another high-concept sequel. The DVD features two commentary tracks, a behind-the-scenes documentary, and "Jennifer Tilly's Diary." --Sean Axmaker

Customer Rating: Summary: Chucky's Bloody Honeymoon!!! Comment: I thought this was a really good installment to add to the franchise! This time, Chucky's not after Andy Barclay, Chucky has been resurrected by his smokin' hot girlfriend, Tiffany. Tiffany soon finds out that Chucky had no means to marry Tiffany, because she found an engagement ring the night Charles Lee Ray died and passed his soul into the Good Guy doll. When Chucky is locked in a playpen, he breaks out and kills Tiffany and transports her body into a doll too. They find out they need to travel to New Jersey to find the amulet Chucky was wearing the night he died. They hitch a ride with Jesse and Jade, a couple who want to be together, but Jade's uncle forbids it. They run away together and get married. During their honeymoon, Chucky and Tiffany kill anyone who gets in their way of the amulet. If you love Chucky, and romantic comedies, you'll love BRIDE OF CHUCKY!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Not scary, but truly funny! Comment: Jennifer Tilly does a fantastic job in this movie! Playing a doll-obsessed killer, she resurrects Chucky, and puts him in a crib, thinking he's cute. But Chucky escapes, Tilly is turned into a doll, and the bloodshed starts. To my surprise, Katherine Heigl plays a small role in this movie, the main action between Chucky and Tilly, who get married, but then are constantly fighting and argueing, Tilly saying she wants to be treated with respect, Chucky just wanting to mindlessly kill. There is no scary part in the whole movie, but a lot of gore and dark humor. It's my first Chucky, so I can't compare it to the first 3, but I do know that I had a great time watching this movie. Great fun! Highly recommended, 5 stars, Grade: A.
Customer Rating: Summary: 5 Stars for the Film, 3.5 Stars for the Actual DVD Comment: A word of advice, if you're looking for special features, this DVD doesn't have much...but the film itself is RAD! Bride of Chucky is the return of the killer doll, and this film throws a lot of twists at the audience. It incorporates a lot of different genres in one, including: thriller, horror, and romantic comedy aspects.
Directed by Ronny Yu (Who also did Freddy Vs. Jason), BOC has a very graphic novel feel to it, and maintains a creepy atmosphere throughout the film. While the acting could use some help, the characters somehow hold up (the whole "I'm gonna vaporize you" scene is hilariously bad though).
Overall, watch this DVD for the film and not the extras. There is a behind the scenes part, but it's not all that great. If you're a Chucky fan, this is definitely for you!
Customer Rating: Summary: Proper return to form Comment: Bride of Chucky is a proper return to the oringial Chucky we all know and love. Don Mancini script is sharp and funny and the direction by Ronny Yu is equal to his Jap films. The film is a vast imporvement of Childs Play 3, however I wish Chucky would have finally gotten to kill Andy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Oh, Bride Comment: Let's all thank Don Mancini. Seven years after the near bore and near death of the Child's Play franchise, Mancini breathed new life into his child. Taken in a completely different way than the previous sequels, Bride of Chucky finally makes Chucky the star. The storyline is now all his, but not just him. Jennifer Tilly gives the series an extra boost as Chucky's ex-lover who revives him in doll-form only to have Chucky put her in her own doll body.
What ensues is spousal hilarity, and a lot more blood than the series has seen. There's also Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile as our main protaginists, but do we really care about them? Actually, I never did. Like I said, this is all Chucky's movie. John Ritter's cameo was actually the next best thing to the villians in the film.
