Customer Rating: Summary: Witness for the Prosecution Comment: "Presumed Innocent" is one of the late Alan Pakula's lesser-known gems... after all,he did "All the President's Men" about Watergate and "Klute" with Jane Fonda as a prostitute/detective. Based on a legal thriller by Scott Turow,it is a skillful whodunit. Harrison Ford stars as a lawyer, Rusty, who's been carrying on a hot affair with Carolyn Polhemus (the glamorous Greta Scacchi) She cut off the affair because he wasn't furthering his career... then she is found terribly ravaged and murdered. Who did it?
The late Raul Julia as well as Brian Dennehy turn in excellent performances as Rusty's colleagues. Bonnie Bedelia stars as Rusty's heartbroken, mentally ill wife. His affair has made her into the broken shell of a woman. The movie glamorizes Ford's passionate affair with Scacchi. The love scenes are incredibly sensual. "Presumed Innocent" makes adultery look innocent.
"Presumed Innocent" has plenty of twists and turns. It's a guilty pleasure legal thriller. What do YOU presume?
Customer Rating: Summary: Good combination of court drama and murder thriller Comment: The beginning of 90's was full of court dramas and murder thrillers. This is a very good combination of both, which means it will attract the fans of both genres. A very good movie with a surprise ending. One of the best movies of both Harrison Ford and the legendary Alan J. Pakula. Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Ford) is assigned to investigate the murder of a woman he had an affair with. All evidences are against him. Framed Sabich is desperate to reveal the real killer...so are the viewers! But believe me the ending will surpass all your expectations and anticipations. Charming Scacchi and the beautifully shot love scenes add so much to the film. Do not hurry to presume...
Customer Rating: Summary: Desire, Seduction, Infidelity and Murder. A perfect drama. Comment: Harrison Ford gives one of his best performances as an intense prosecutor seduced into an obsessive relationship that ends up with a murder and accusation that threatens to ruin his life. This is a fine adaptation of a Scott Turow novel, produced by Sidney Pollack who, in my opinion, can do no wrong. Bonnie Bedelia, Raul Julia, Brian Dennehy and Paul Winfield sparkle under Alan Pakula's tight direction. You won't want to reveal the ending of this provocative thriller.
Customer Rating: Summary: Starts Slow, Finishes Very Good Comment: The film is a little hard to get into for the first 10 minutes or so. Then it improves very quickly and finishes with a bang. At times the dialogue is hard to understand and, at times, is hardly above a whisper and cannot be heard. All in all, this is a very good film - it just takes a while to get with it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Superb film, well acted and with a twist at the end Comment: I just saw this film for the second time in a period of several years and although I vaguely remembered the ending it wasn't until the "denouement" that I really remembered the details. However, I would watch it again, even if I did remember the ending because it is so well written and so well acted.
