Summary: No big time actors but the kung fu is good!
Comment: Starring Chin Lung(Secret Rivals 3) as a young man who does all the right things and people still seem to hate him. The story is very reminiscent of Snake in the Eagle's Shadow but not quite as good of course. Chin Lung has to be one of the most nimble people to ever walk the earth. Watching him do flips and other crazy spinning cartwheels and stuff is amazing.

The story is about a guy(James Tien) who was not appointed head of the school and now wants to find and kill the old school leader, his big brother. The reason he was the leader and not is the leader now is because James Tien broke his leg a while ago and he has been hiding out as a cook. So the old school leader ends up saving Chin Lung in a fight and one of the men recognizes him. He goes to tell James Tien but gets stopped on the way by the old leader. These 2 have a pretty good battle but it was a let down from the first 2 fights. Then again, the guy's hands do move pretty fast and he is a cripple so it isn't supposed to be the greatest fight. When the old leader is about to be kicked out from the place where he has been hiding out and won't be able to rest and recover from his wounds anymore, Chin Lung puts up his life savings in a very touching moment to keep the man in bed for another month. After Chin Lung gets all mad because he doesn't have any money now to get a teacher, the old school leader of course steps up to teach the young man in kung fu.

Having someone like Chin Lung really makes this film a classic. Not only is he one of the greatest acrobats you will ever see, he is also a master of kung fu and is great at fist forms. The only person that can come close to him in this movie is Wang Chi-sang who is the first guy that Ghostface killer fights in Ninja Checkmate. He is also one of Jack Long's henchmen in Five Fighters From Shaolin weilding a crazy snake whip weapon. Him and Chin Lung have 2 spectacular matches and the 2nd is definitely better than the first. The final fight is very good but the director resorts to a kick that Tien does way too many times.

The picture quality of the movie is a bit dark and full screened of course but it is still very watchable. Also the sound quality is not very good so turn teh volume way up because some of the dialogue is quite good.

I was stuck between a 3 and a 4 on this. While I was dissapointed that the hands tied style that Chin Lung learns was not fully explained and the movie does not have really any star power other than Jmaes Tien, I still had to give it a 4 becasue of the great kung fu on display. I don't care if a movie has big stars, great sets and costumes, I like to watch good kung fu.

Summary: Not that bad... really!
Comment: Okay this movie was pretty bad, but then again we Westerners don't get much of the underlying text to Asian movies anyway!

The best thing about this movie was the acrobatics of the hero. He was really skillful and pulled off the physical comedy well. Not one I'd recommend running and out and buying but it's definitely a rental for those who appreciate the physical skill of the martial artists.

Summary: major cheese
Comment: this could easily be the worst movie I've seen in my life. There is absolutely no story behind this and i's just destroy, destroy, and destroy, I nearly fell asleep when I watched this movie... do yourself a favor and don't buy this.
