Customer Rating: Summary: Street Fighter Alpha - The Movie Comment: This movie was good, way better than the series as far as the story line goes. Anime is great.
Customer Rating: Summary: awesome. Comment: feels short.. I wish it was longer.. it looks great... I don't know maybe it was me.. something different. comparet to the original street fighter.. I would be it again if I had to . I love street fighter back since 92'
Customer Rating: Summary: greateast artwork, a straight mix of digital and hand effort.! Comment: in all my DECADES been a streetfighter fan, and phylosophy follower, is the best anime explaining the warrior insights! PD: only for true warriors....
Customer Rating: Summary: Well, at least Zangief was in it. Comment: This film I thought was alright. I did get to see Zangief fight some little kid which was hilarious and the animation is fairly good in my opinion. But other then that this film dissapointed me a little for these reasons: The lack of characters and the characters that did show up had very short scenes other then Ryu, Ken, and Chun Li which I guess why there were not much cameos they concentrated on the most popular characters in the whole Street Fighter series, I never heard of the main villain, confusing story that never showed up in the Alpha games, sentimental story line, and most importantly of all not enough fighting and the fight scenes that did show up were really short. Oh yeah another reason is Akuma's crappy cameo and how can they kill off one of the characters in the game even if he is not that popular unless that was apart of his orginal story line in the first Street Fighter game and thats why he did not show up in any of the other sequels of Street Fighter. But at least I got to see Zangief beat up a little kid. Stick to the games any other media of Street Fighter dissapoints if your a big fan of the games. Nothing I hate more then changing the orginal storys of characters.
Customer Rating: Summary: Entertaining Street Fighter anime Comment: I won't bore you with a story summary, or a plot analysis (you can find that in the 'Product Description'). Anyone looking into this anime is interested in only one thing: the action. Street Fighter Alpha pits characters from the game into plenty of jaw-dropping, smoothly animated fight scenes. Anyone familiar with the video games will see some of their favorite characters pull off their signature moves. The visuals are really impressive and the action amazes. If you're aiming for an anime action fix, this will probably do it...especially for Street Fighter fans.
The only thing about this movie that may disappoint a Street Fighter fan (besides lack of character development) is the absence of certain star characters of the game, such as M. Bison and Guile.
For the SF fans who are curious about who actually made the cut:
- Ryu and Ken obviously play a big part.
- Chun Li also plays a big role in the movie.
- Akuma (Gouki) makes a brief appearance in the beginning and closing credits.
- Zangief makes a single appearance, and battles Blanka and Ryu in a short but interesting fight.
- Sakura doesn't participate in any fighting, but acts as an annoying side character instead.
- Rose appears as a mystical sage, and doesn't fight in the movie either.
- Dan, Adon, Sodom, and Birdie also make brief fighting appearances as well.
- Most of the battles include Ryu's little brother, Shin. The final battles include characters i've never seen from the games before, but I'm not particularly a big fan either (only played the earlier versions back in the day). They may have been in the newer games.
So, if you're solely looking for an action anime, which happens to be devoid of any plot or character development, then you should enjoy this. Hope this review helps.
