Customer Rating: Summary: Do opinions really count when buying a movie Comment: Since I purchased this film I have watched it several times and I still think that this is a good martial art movie, it has an all star cast and most of the fight scenes are good.
Customer Rating: Summary: I give the movie a 3.5 and the dvd release a 10/10. Comment: I should have listened to you guys. Some of these wutang releases are pretty good. I am yet to find a great movie but the dvd releases are always great. When they started with the iron flag collection that was pretty weak. But the last 3 wutang movies I have seen have been good(vol. 8-10). This one starts out like this:Lau kar-wing is getting broken out of prison by beardy(lui jai ren)beardy and wilson tong. They say"what do you wanna do now that you are free". "I wanna kill that guy who locked me up". They go mess up chen kuan tai and kill his wife and kid and whaddayano, he wants revenge. Not too much of a story, btu plenty of stars to make this tired story a watchable one. So Chen Kuan Tai gets like an iron hand and seeks revenge. Mang fei shows up for a nice role as a guy who is trying to arrest Lau Kar wing and his cronies. There is a lot of treachery at the end(no I won't tell you by who), but still not really a good movie. But the fights are not the best but chhen juan tai is in top form. One of the better magn fei performances. And also his brother's best ever(I hate that guy). Wilson tong and beardy are good but tong isn't great. And my favorite character actor EVER shows up and he is almost as good as he was in The Lost Swordship. The rating would have been a 3 for this, btu this guy is so freaking funny, it really doesn't matter how bad the movie is. So look for the guy with the eyepatch.
the dvd presentation itself is awesome as usual. 4 clips of the 4 actors mentioned above. And an interview with all but Chen Kuan Tai. I know fu movies better than most. But Wutang Clan ALWAYS manages to surprise me with their clips they be pullin out. They got a weird tv show where mang fei is a white spandex wearing ninja!! And all the other clips are pretty rare with only 2-3 you will recognize.
Bad quality, and bad sound, pretty good flick.
Customer Rating: Summary: Shaolin Kingboxer Comment: Uhmmmm, let's see, what's the perfect making of a good kung fu flick. Hey, I know! What about you being a policeman who kicks the butts of some local criminals who break into your house. You try to defend your family and your honor, but then here comes that "curve" ball. These thugs then pull your family out of the bedroom and hold knives to their throats. Not only that, they grab hold of you and make you watch while they're murder your family. It doesn't stop there! They then force you to the floor and chop off your thumb. Do you know the things you are not able to do if you are missing a thumb? Never thought about it, right? After he escapes, all he can think about is getting revenge on the animals who tore his world apart.
Now this is the making of a good kung fu movie.
Not the best I've seen, but isn't revenge sweet anyway!
Customer Rating: Summary: All star cast! Comment: Another quality piece of work by the Wu tang Clan.Tons of extras and the DVD menus are superb-better than the major studios in most cases.I also can recommend the Wu's newest release of Shaolin Drunkard and Kung Fu of 8 Drunkards.Top notch!
Customer Rating: Summary: not that great Comment: This movie actually has a plot. It's a drama with some kung-fu, although the action and fight scenes were not that great. But the twist and turns makes it some-what-o.k.
