5 Daggers of Death

You're probably saying to yourself right about now, "What is BADBOB doing reviewing a strange Kung Fu flick at SavageNight when they handle mainly horror and Science Fiction." Well, if you'll quit talking to yourself so much, I'll tell you.

A horror movie to me is one where bad, I mean terrible bad things happen to people. Some of the time, the people who had the bad things happen to them, pays back the one that did it to them. Using this criteria, The Crippled Masters is a horror movie. And besides, if it isn't, it is a cool movie unlike anything you've ever seen before.

When was the last time you saw a guy with no arms and a guy with only limp bones for legs putting a good whooping on the bad guys??? I'll tell you when. Never. Unless you've seen The Crippled Masters, you ain't never seen that.

Lets put this in perspective. The next time you're feeling frisky and want to cause some trouble. Grab your biggest and baddest buddy and head down to a biker bar. When you get there. Tie your friend's legs together so all he can do is sit in a squatting position on the floor. Have him tie your arms behind you. Then start insulting the bikers and fight for your lives. That way, after they beat the snot out of you, you'll know just what The Crippled Masters were up against. If you two guys win the fight, then you deserve to have a movie made about you just like The Crippled Masters did.

The Crippled masters is so unique, so surprising that I could tell you the entire plot in detail and you'd still be surprised by what you see in this movie. The visual stunts in The Crippled Masters are stunning because these guys are for real. Jackie Conn and Frankie Shum were born with the birth defects that make them crippled. These guys are amazing for what they can do despite their deformities.

The plot of The Crippled Masters is that both Conn and Shum are individually betrayed by an evil Kung Fu master. He has ones arms cut off and the others legs destroyed by acid. Of course our two heros want revenge. To get it they have to learn to combine their bodies to create one perfect fighting machine.

The script is perfect for this type of movie. Shakespear served up with Chop Suey. There's a lot of great lines thrown around during the entire film. One of my favorites is, "You'll be quiet, after I break all the bones in your body!"

Heart warming stuff.

I could go on and on about The Crippled Masters. Buy it and watch it. I bought this movie about 2 years ago and have seen it probably eight times since and I will be watching it again.

Summary: Missed Oscar?
Comment: This movie was somehow overlooked by the Oscars. I can relate to this movie in my day to day life. I just think how thankful we really should be that most of us dont have to worry about being disfigured by a villan. These 2 crippled heros bring a tear to my eye every time I watched the unparalleled acting. This movie is so epic I watched it every day for six months during my lunchtime break at work. The action and revenge will get you going during your day. Kinda like Rocky III. This should be rated a 6 stars if it were possible.

Summary: Amazing movie.
Comment: I'm not a connoisseur of kung fu flicks, but I do enjoy a cheesy one every now and then, and this one is definitely cheesy. The DVD is very basic, with simple menus and no correction to the film but that just makes this cheese fest even better. Overall though I believe Masters of The Flying Gullotine is a better film but Crippled Masters should definitely be part of your DVD library.

Summary: 2.5, but I just can't give it a 3
Comment: The crippled fighting is amazing, but there were not enough fights in this movie!!!!!! They had plenty of training but I need freaking fighting. The storyline is horrible and doesn't really come up with anythign enw except for usign real cripples. But then again, I heard that there is a sequel for this movie and I will definitely check it out if I can. THE CRIPPLED MASTERS ARE GOOD, THEIR MOVIE IS NOT.

Summary: Old "Skool" Kung Fu!!
Comment: Initially, I was un-comfortable about watching two crippled men fight kung fu,,,,but after all the hype I saw on amazon,,I was compelled to this this one out.

This flick is my first experience with both Jackie Conn and Frankie Shum,,,I must admit, I was pleasantly surprized,,,the cinematography and choreography was excellent, and well done. The fight scenes were simply amazing,,and a very tight plot,,,,,,not bad at all,,,well worth watching...After seeing this one,,,i'm now compelled to check out the other flick with both men,, "Crippled Heroes"
