Chronicles the life of the eccentric, sensual, uncompromising, and media-shy star of Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp rebelled against his early image as a Hollywood hunk, opting to play complex characters in such movies as Edward Scissorhands and What's Eating Gilbert Grape?. Along the way, he romanced actress Winona Ryder and model Kate Moss before wedding French singing sensation Vanessa Paradis.

Customer Rating: Summary: GREAT DVD! Comment: IT WAS A GIFT FOR MY BOY-FRIEND. HE IS A FAN OF JONNY DEPP. I THINK HE ENJOYED WATCHING IT.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not what you got on TV Comment: Just record the 2-hour biography episode off the TV because this is a MUCH abbreviated 50-minute version not worth looking at. All the really thoughtful, insightful interviews were cut and all the tabloid junk we've heard a million times left in. Hopefully a better version will be released.
Customer Rating: Summary: A 3-buckle overshoe, at best! Comment: DVD I received was horrible; the sound track totally out of sync with any of the persons responding including J. Depp, himself and was goofy to watch as if a foreign version dubbed to English. It's old, outdated material put together in a sloppy fashion giving nothing of Depp's current work. Increasingly brilliant, a genuine star on top of his game with latest "Pirates" and "The Libertine" ~ only a truly gifted artist of absolute genius could make anything out of the Wilmot story which is pathetic and generally disgusting, a wasted figure of a man whose great potential somehow made its way through the muck of his sorry short life. Depp's premium performance manages what possible scarce modicum of dignity, depth and breadth to the consummate self-destructive eccentric Wilmot was.
Hopefully, a sequence of Johnny Depp's work gets updated and greatly refined to do justice to this grand talent, a superior actor who yet exemplifies humility standing his ground as a courageous of conviction class act in every way.
Pleased to have in my possession copies of each of Johnny Depp's library of films not to be sullied by adding this no more than crumple for the trash thing, precisely where it quick found its true placement! Even the jacket photo is blegh; of ALL the array of fine pictures available of the man, this one presents Depp as pale and sickly.
Deserves one star only because included is "Don Juan DeMarco" ~ a joyful production which elsewhere seems to be lost to mention. Depp quite obviously can gracefully take any character to optimum!
