In this sweeping and visually stunning martial arts epic set in 17th century Korea, an elite group of Imperial guards is formed to protect the most important officials. When the group's two top warriors--sworn brothers until death--are separated by unforeseen circumstances, they are forced to turn on each other as one has become a top assassin of government officials, and the other is assigned to eliminate him. Gorgeously shot and with balletic fights in the elegant style of HERO and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, SWORD IN THE MOON is an evocative swordplay saga filled with scenes of astonishing beauty and martial arts fight sequences of enormous power.

Customer Rating: Summary: Good plot and good acting but very depressing. Comment: It has good plot and good acting but it's very depressing. I don't know why most Korean movies have tragic ending. As for the fighting scenes, I prefer the Chinese way. It's because I can see cleary the movements of the weapons, of the hands and legs of the fighters.
It's worth watching once for curiosity.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Korean period film Comment: This story is about two men raised together as youths but now as adults become adversaries each a master swordsman and each one willing to kill to advance their cost. This film was made by Koreans who have a totally different look and feel to thier style of martial art film making. I am one who enjoys this style it's combat scenes are more agressive and the story lines are dark in comparision. I give this film 3 stars because the interplay between the actors sometimes is long and the fight scenes are good but not great.
