(Horror) When a Canadian research photographer is killed, leaving behind a photo of a boy in an otherwise empty room, paranormal investigative scientist, Hashimoto, and his team investigate the scene. Armed with a newly invented material they capture the ghost: an unidentified 13-year old boy. Who is this ghost? Why does it kill people? As they seal off the room and monitor the captured spirit, they soon learn that even though it’s energy can be visibly seen, humans are unable to hear it. In an effort to learn the ghost’s past, Hashimoto’s team enlists the help of special agent Ye, gifted with extraordinary eyesight and ability to lip-read. As Ye gets closer to solving the riddle of the boy’s past, he learns the horrifying truth of the boy’s death. Fearing that the ghost child is dangerous, the team decides to isolate the ghost but in doing so they unknowingly unleash a mysterious force, a much more powerful and ferocious energy to which the boy somehow seems connected.

Customer Rating: Summary: I don't know what movie the reviewer was watching but it wasent Comment: this one. This is a tight, semi-scary, Asian horror movie. Some scientists capture a ghost of a little boy and watch him, like they would a lab rat. I liked it, it was a different story line. Enjoy!
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Poor Comment: This was a very disapointing film. Bought on the basis of other reviews but I should know better by now.
The ghost scenes were so bad it was dificult to keep a straight face.
Very poor. Dreadful in fact.
Customer Rating: Summary: An Under-Rated Ghost Movie That's Very Entertaining Comment: I think this brought about the one thought many people have around the world which "What Really Happens When We Die". With this movie it shows a few explanations shown to us by a group of Asian scientist who have made an organic protein substance which seems to be able to contain and trap the energies of spirits. Of course the scientist need to know where a real spirit is and with the intro of the movie you see two of the scientist hire a professional photographer to take pictures an a old apartment said to be haunted by the ghost of a young child. As with all horror movies the boy ghost inadvertently kills the photographer by squeezing his heart. Here now comes the part where the head team director hires a professional soldier/cop to be part of the team as he has the training and skills the team director feels to find out the story about the life and death of the young ghost and why he haunts the apartment. Of course there is more to the movie but to really understand it I'd advise just watching the movie. The effects aren't bad don't expect the cgi effects of Hollywood's big producer companies but still for the movie they're still pretty good. The languages are intermixed meaning unlike some dvd's there is only one audio track, so you don't get English/Japanese/Mandarin audio tracks but all these languages are spoken in the movie itself. The video is wide-screen and very sharp and clear so no complaints with this movies picture quality. The extras are some trailers, commentaries, and a few deleted scenes. So if you like movies like The Ring or Ju-on or just like ghost story movies this is a pretty good pick for your home....
Customer Rating: Summary: Horror/Sci-Fi Melange Comment: It was said that this film was not intended to be a horror, but to be honest, that is what it seems to be. It is a horror with touches of sci-fi and drama.
The best part about this film is the complex characters and their equally complex relationships. The lead male actor (who plays the expert lip-reader) gives a very intense performance, as does the actor who played the paranormal scientist Hashimoto.
While this film is intelligent and creative, as others have pointed out, I still don't think it's on par with other great Asia Extreme releases, for instance, "A Tale of Two Sisters" is the best I've seen so far, along with "Wishing Stairs." Perhaps the beautiful yet creepy aesthetics of those two horror films seems more appealing, as sci-fi elements often do not seem to blend well with horror; therefore, "Silk" will appeal more so to those who like a dash of science fiction in their films.
Customer Rating: Summary: SILK Comment: Great fushion of Sci-fi, Detective and horror genre. Good cast give grade A performances in this tightly directed smartly scripted film. Sound, digital and special affects are well done as well. A definite must see.
